TO THE PERFECT BEARD IN FOUR STEPS
Step 1 - Cleaning
Wash your beard daily or at least as often as you wash the hair on your head. Use a special beard shampoo or soap that is less degreasing than regular shampoo and does not dry out the beard hair. You want a clean beard without dust, dirt, food residues or bacteria? Then clean it with these steps:
- Wash your beard thoroughly in the shower (if you're in a hurry, you can also wash it in the sink).
- Pour a small amount of shampoo into your hands, rub gently and massage into your beard.
- Leave on for a short time and then rinse with warm water.
- Dry the beard carefully with a towel (do not rub).
Step 2 - The care
Use a soothing beard oil that softens your beard while giving it a subtle and pleasant scent. Beard oil is perfect for restoring charm to a dull and lacklustre beard. Just don't use too much, or your beard will quickly shine like a fine bacon rind.
Step 3 - Combing
Comb your beard regularly to keep the hair supple. You can also prevent holes in your beard and see immediately if your beard hair needs to be trimmed again. Carefully brush the beard hairs on the cheeks with the stroke downwards, the hairs on the neck and chin against the stroke forwards. Look in the mirror, it looks funny. Now start to shape the hair on the chin again and finally the hair on the neck. A beard comb is suitable for smaller beards like a moustache, it can bring your beard into shape. A beard brush is the ideal grooming tool for full beard wearers, it cleans and detangles the beard hair.
Step 4 - The styling
Your beard hairs are sticking out? No problem, comb through your beard and with the right styling products you can easily bring it back into the right shape. While short beard hairs are relatively easy to maintain, the longer the beard hair, the more difficult it becomes to keep it in shape. Use wax, balm or a pomade to ensure a perfect hold and give your beard the finishing touch. Don't use hairspray or gel to style your beard. It will make your beard look too static or sticky.
