We all love the ability to create the most diverse and individual looks with just a few handles and tools. Today we'll show you how to conjure up beautiful curls with a straightening iron.

Why curl your hair with a straightener?

Curl styling with a straightening iron offers a number of advantages:

  • Many possibilities, for example: beach waves, big curls, loose waves
  • Styling is super fast
  • The curls last a long time because they are styled with pressure
  • They become cleaner because you smooth the roots at the same time to be able to curl the hair

Practice makes perfect, even when doing curls

Every beginning is difficult, so take your time with your first attempts and practise patience. We have made a how-to video for you in which you can see one type of styling.

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Combing hair
  2. Use heat protection
  3. Separate the top section of hair
  4. Twist the hair into curls strand by strand
  5. Now separate the back section of hair from the front section
  6. Curl all the hair at the back of the head
  7. Finally, the front hair is also curled
  8. Loosen with your fingers or a coarse comb
  9. Use a hairspray to set if required

What is the difference between cream and heat protection spray?

We say that this depends on you. It doesn't matter whether you use a spray or a heat protection cream. With a spray, you have to massage the product into your hair more intensively so that all your ends are protected, which you automatically do with the cream.

Four tips for perfect curls with the straightener

Tip 1: Heat protection

Not really a tip, but an absolute must: heat protection! The hair is damaged by the heat. Heat protection protects the hair from direct heat and minimises split ends and frizz. There are different types of heat protection products, mostly creams or sprays that are worked into the lengths and ends.

There are also home remedies that provide excellent heat protection.

If you don't have any heat protection with you, that's not a problem. Use it instead:

Apple cider vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar contains an acid that can become your friend as it protects your hair from heat.

To do this, mix the vinegar with water and leave it on for a few minutes before applying heat.

Aloe Vera:

Aloe vera provides a lot of moisture to your hair as well as skin, so it forms a natural heat protectant.

Olive oil:

You can massage a small amount into your hair super and start straightening.

Cold camomile tea:

You can achieve great heat protection for your hair with cooled chamomile tea, which also provides sufficient conditioning.

Tip 2: Always keep moving

One of the most important secrets is to keep twisting. Otherwise there will be kinks and the curls will become uneven.Modern waves don't start at the roots. Place the tool at about eye level and twist your hair into casual curls.

Tip 3: Start at eye level

Modern waves don't start at the roots. Place the tool at about eye level and twist your hair into casual curls.

Tip 4: Pay attention to the direction

You should definitely pay attention to which side you want to twist in your waves. Twisting them backwards will create even waves. If you want to shape them towards the front, you will get wilder natural curls.Das richtige Glätteisen

The right straightener

The curlier you want your hair to be, the narrower the plates of the straightener need to be. It is also important how much you section your hair for a curl. The more you section, the larger the curls will be. The less you section, the smaller the curls will be.

What types of straighteners are there?

The mini straightener is great for travelling and does the same job as a larger straightener.

The straightening brush is ideal for every day. You can brush and straighten your hair at the same time.

Despite the heat, the ionic straightener creates a super shine for your hair.

The cordless straightener runs on battery power and is suitable for anyone who wants to do their hair anywhere.

There is also the steam straightener, which prevents the heat from coming into contact with your hair despite the steam.
