The packaging is straightforward and resembles a classic hair dye package from a retail store. The contents are similar: besides the straightening serum and instructions, there's shampoo, conditioner, and gloves for application.
The application - allocate plenty of time
The application of KATIVA requires several steps, so it's crucial to carefully read the instructions.
First, wash the hair with shampoo and without conditioner, then fully dry it with a hairdryer. The straightening serum is applied about 1 cm away from the roots, strand by strand, and massaged into the hair. For thicker hair, it's recommended to divide the hair into upper and lower sections and treat them separately. After the recommended time, comb out any excess product. Tip: Use a comb that cleans easily, or you'll struggle to remove the product.
Next, activate the serum with the heat from the hairdryer. From this point, patience and some arm muscles are required. Use an ideally flat brush to completely dry and straighten the hair. This might take a while. It's advisable to ask for help with the back of your head; otherwise, undesirable waves may form.
Once the hair is completely dry, wash the product out using the provided shampoo and conditioner, and dry it straight again with a brush.
