Everything you need to know about shaving
Stubble and reddened skin after shaving are a thing of the past. Discover now how you can achieve a smooth and gentle shave.
Wet shaving vs. dry shaving: what's the difference?
Wet shaving: Wet shaving involves the use of water and shaving soap to moisturise the face or other parts of the body and prepare the skin. A razor with sharp blades is then used to cut the hair close to the surface of the skin.
Dry shaving: In contrast, dry shaving involves the use of an electric razor that is used without water or shaving soap. The razor heads of the electric razor move quickly and cut the hair on the surface of the skin. This method is quick and convenient and is well suited to people with little time or when travelling. However, it can sometimes not deliver quite as smooth results as a wet shave.
Skin care
Preparation: Start by thoroughly cleansing your face or the area to be shaved with warm water. This helps to remove dirt, oil and dead skin cells and open the pores. Use a shaving gel or shaving foam to moisturise the skin. This reduces friction on the skin. Leave the product on for a few minutes to further soften the hair and make shaving easier. Use a sharp and clean razor to carefully remove the hair in the direction of its growth.
Aftercare: Rinse your face or the shaved area thoroughly with cold water to close the pores. Apply a soothing aftershave lotion to hydrate and nourish the skin. Make sure to choose a product that is alcohol-free to avoid skin irritation. Follow with a light moisturiser. This helps to keep the skin supple and avoid dryness.
