Should I avoid silicones in hair products?

Why do hair products contain silicones?
Professional hair products generally do not contain harmful, non-water-soluble silicones. However, premium claims often require non-harmful, water-soluble silicones that wrap around the hair like a thin film. This makes it noticeably shinier, smoother and more resistant to external influences. Silicones also protect the hair colour from fading and ensure long-lasting colour brilliance.
Silicones are nowadays excellently developed. They wash out again with the next hair wash and the hair is not weighed down. Other care substances can also still penetrate the hair, as the modern, high-quality silicone oils do not close the hair surface. The hair can therefore only benefit from a hair product that contains water-soluble silicones and gets a soft feel and a beautiful shine.
